This, coupled with expeditions to Scandinavia, the Swiss Alps, The Lake District and Wales has all led to Walk and Travel becoming as it is today and how it will develop into the future. I can only thank those in Scouting that have offered me these wonderful opportunities. Having worked for many years in various capacities for other outdoor shops, selling mountaineering and rock climbing gear, tents, sleeping bags, walking boots, outdoor clothing, travel clothing, waterproof jackets and waterproof trousers, along with just about everything else you could need for walking and travelling, I learnt about what the customer wanted and how they wanted their outdoor equipment, whether it was someone going on a Gap Year, Round the World trip, Working Abroad or a Scout doing a Duke of Edinburgh?s Award Expedition I wanted to show them the options that are available to them, from cheap outdoor gear and value outdoor equipment ranges where they may not use the outdoor equipment again, to the top end, best outdoor clothing and best outdoor equipment ranges that will last them for many more years to come.
