Fairlight Wood

Almost like being in a large garden, this is a small and intimate site in flower-rich woodland with footpaths from the site. As William the Conqueror's basecamp in 1066, it was Hastings where he chose to build his castle following the actual fight at nearby Battle. Old Hastings has a quiet charm - go and watch the fisherman bring in their daily catch; eat some of the freshest fish and chips you've ever had and then walk them off with a stroll around the old town. The East Cliffs connect with the challenging five-mile Country Park walk to Fairlight Coastguard Station, passing two wooded valleys, secluded beaches and spectacular views.  As a Biodiversity Site, the surrounding woods are ideal for spotting wildlife.

Tanner Farm Park

An open yet secluded park in the centre of a 150 acre working family farm in the attractive Weald of Kent, Garden of England. This is a delightful place for a get-away-from-it-all break in peace and tranquillity. The owners have carefully conserved the traditional farm buildings and land and offer very high standard facilities. Children can help bottle-feed the lambs in spring, watch the pigs rooting around in their pen and the pheasants sauntering confidently about, feed the ducks on the pond which surrounds the five-kiln oasthouse in the farmyard, or see the Shire horses groomed and put to work. There is trout fishing in the river on the farm's boundary.

Daleacres

An attractive and level site with a view of the splendid Lympne Castle in the distance. This family site boasts recently developed facilities including a new toilet block and TV and games rooms. Keep an ear out for the lions and monkeys which you can sometimes hear from nearby Lympne Zoo; also listen for the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch miniature railway as it passes the site. East Kent has plenty of attractions beginning with the attractive village of Hythe. Why not take advantage of the site’s proximity to the channel ports or the Channel Tunnel and pop over to France for the day – remember to take your passport! Further inland you can discover The Garden of England – oasts, hop gardens, vineyards, orchards and lots more.
