The view from the caravan window alone is worth the journey. The site is quiet and tranquil with almost a 180 degree panorama to the Ochil Hills, where in autumn the purple heather and golden bracken are brilliant. The nearby Gartmorn Dam country park and nature reserve offers a ranger service of guided walks and there is excellent fishing. In Dollar Glen, Castle Campbell and the National Trust woodland will make an interesting day out. An ideal touring base where the Lowlands end and the Highlands begin with Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, The Trossachs and Loch Lomond all within easy reach.

Blair Drummond

A delightful and very attractive park, set in and around a walled garden which is sheltered with mature trees and shrubs. Cycling on quiet private roads and tracks, excellent walking, bird watching and brown trout fishing (by arrangement) on Quarry Loch. Children’s play area and dog walk. Adjacent is the safari park and a day ticket allows caravanners multiple entry to the park whilst staying at our site. Excellent centre for touring with attractions such as castles at Stirling and Doune, Loch Katrine steamship, the Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park all within a few miles. Edinburgh is an hour’s drive and Glasgow rather less; both with excellent museums and art galleries. There are plenty of things to do for families which are free!

The Ranch

This award-winning pretty little site, with its colourful rosebeds and flowering shrubs is an excellent base for exploring this lovely part of South West Scotland. Family facilities include a well-equipped play area for children and, for a small fee, you can use the complex's heated indoor pool, sauna, & gymnasium. You can also obtain a licence to fish the well-stocked trout pool at Loch Mochrum (1½m). There are many secluded beaches and attractive villages to explore and whilst in Burns Country you can follow in his footsteps on the Heritage Trail. A coastal drive brings you to lovely unspoilt villages, and for fun, drive up Croy Brae: it appears you're going up, but take your foot off the brake and you roll forwards! It’s an optical illusion.

Clachan

This site is a find, with its several open pitching areas tucked quietly away in woodland ablaze with wild flowers, and with an amazing range of bird life. Based here, you can see the best of this fabulous countryside on foot, for you are in the glens, mountains and lochs of the Central Highlands - country to dream about. Make an early stop at the Ben Lawers Visitor Centre which stands a thousand feet above Loch Tay. As well as information and the view, you'll be rewarded by a spectacular display of alpine flowers as well as curlew, buzzard, golden plover and kestrel. The National Trust's ranger service offers guided walks from early July to end August and it's worth asking for a list.
