Set on the edge of the lovely, rolling Lincolnshire Wolds, life here slows down to the pace of a tractor and well-kept fields stretch on for ever. A delightful 9-hole golf course, set within the racecourse, is on site. Ideal for the beginner, improver or casual golfer -forgiving but challenging, especially in the wind! Concessions available to CC members. Driving is a pleasure in this quiet area, and you can discover charming little villages where the nineteenth century has only just left and the twenty first not yet arrived. The area has many associations with Tennyson. For walkers the Viking Way is just 2 miles from the site, so don't forget to pack those walking boots.

Rutland Caravan & Camping Site

This family-run site, situated in the heart of Rutland, offers you the opportunity to explore England’s smallest county, renowned for its picturesque villages and towns. The site is adjacent to the village of Greetham, through which the Viking Way and various other footpath networks meander. The village offers three pubs (all serving food), tennis, badminton, bowls, pentanque, football, cricket and a children’s play area.  Golfers are spoilt here with one of Rutland’s finest clubs – Greetham Valley, which boasts two 18-hole courses, 9-hole par 3 course, driving range, club house and excellent Pro Shop.

Rutland certainly lives up to its motto ‘Multim in Parvo’ (much in little) with Rutland Water with its sailing, cycling, fishing, rock climbing, butterfly & aquatic centre and nature reserve.

Hawthorn Farm

Level and open to the sun and fresh air, this is an ideal site for family holidays, with excellent facilities and play equipment, and only three-quarters of a mile from a safe bathing beach. The prom at Sutton-on-Sea is traffic free, which makes it pleasant for walking and cycling, and the beach is safe for bathing, clean sand washed by each tide. There's also bowling and tennis facilities, a paddling pool, and putting green. Inland, you ought to visit the gracious city of Lincoln and earn your excellent lunch by walking up the famous hill to the Cathedral. To get a flavour of the Lincolnshire Wolds villages, visit Alford, a pleasant market town with a working windmill and craft centre. For walkers, the County Council has produced a good set of walks leaflets, and if you're a birdwatcher, visit Gibraltar Point.

Milestone

Milestone is a small, pretty and level site with a coarse fishing lake and picnic area. There are also specialist fishing lakes in the village, which makes this site ideal for walkers and anglers alike. For real ale connoisseurs, there is a Visitor Centre just 100yds away. The site is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Cromwell, famous for its Dolls Museum, five miles north of Newark and easily accessible from the A1 both north and south. With much Civil War history on the doorstep, Newark Castle was of particular strategic importance and is well worth a visit. Nearby Nottingham has a more famous castle and tales to tell of the legendary Robin Hood - you can also visit the annual Robin Hood Festival at Edwinstowe in early August. Margaret Thatcher's childhood days are claimed by Grantham as a principal visitor attraction.
