This site is equipped as a luxury facility Site for all seasons and all interests, situated in a bowl with panoramic views at the heart of the Peak National Park. All pitches are all-weather. This is a marvellous base for all kinds of outdoor activities, including walking, hill and rock climbing, potholing, biking and riding. It would be hard to imagine anywhere with such an array of natural and historical features both above and below ground. The village of Castleton, dominated by the ruins of William the Conqueror's Peveril Castle from which it gets its name, is only half a mile away. All year round there are shops and pubs to delight the visitor, and at Christmas time the streets are awash with lights and the shops stay open late.

High Onn

A tranquil country site, so peaceful that it’s hard to believe that you are less than 11 miles from the motorway network. Views from the site are over typical English farmland scenery towards The Wrekin and Shropshire hills. The narrow quiet lanes around the site are good cycling territory and ideal for strolls to the Shropshire Union Canal. Members who use the site as a stopover often end up staying a week or more to visit the many treats in the area, to enjoy the relaxed ambience of the site and to take in its history as a wartime RAF base. There are many attractions within easy reach including Ironbridge, Weston Park and the RAF Cosford Aerospace Museum. In addition, the Site has one of the Club’s most extensive private dog walks – just perfect for your pooch!

Milestone

Milestone is a small, pretty and level site with a coarse fishing lake and picnic area. There are also specialist fishing lakes in the village, which makes this site ideal for walkers and anglers alike. For real ale connoisseurs, there is a Visitor Centre just 100yds away. The site is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Cromwell, famous for its Dolls Museum, five miles north of Newark and easily accessible from the A1 both north and south. With much Civil War history on the doorstep, Newark Castle was of particular strategic importance and is well worth a visit. Nearby Nottingham has a more famous castle and tales to tell of the legendary Robin Hood - you can also visit the annual Robin Hood Festival at Edwinstowe in early August. Margaret Thatcher's childhood days are claimed by Grantham as a principal visitor attraction.

Lady Margaret's Park

A beautiful wooded parkland site adjacent to the grounds of Chirk Castle in the heart of Marcher country, with pitches both in intimate tree-shaded glades and in open grassed areas. There are several historic houses and castles to visit: Chirk is on the doorstep, a huge border fortress completed in 1310. A little further afield explore the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty such as Ceiriog Valley, the Berwyn Mountains and Pistyll Rhaeadr, the highest waterfall in Wales. At Llangollen you can view the scenic Dee Valley by steam train or by canal boat. After a hard day's sightseeing, you will find eating out in the area incredibly good value.
